The Adventure Continues

We are off on another sailing adventure on Lake Superior this time! We left Grand Marais around 2 p.m. heading towards Duluth. We are hoping that we can sail out of the dense fog that built up during the rain we had late this morning. As we watch the tops of the Sawtooth Mountains pass by, we are hoping to see sunshine soon!

Our plan is to sail towards Duluth, spending tonight in Taconite Harbor, just southwest of Schroeder. There are only three mooring balls in the harbor, so we’re hoping to catch one.

Tomorrow, the 4th of July, we will spend in Silver Bay – hoping to see the fireworks show from the shopping center down at the marina. Then off to Duluth, the Apostles, and up the Keeweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Our final destination on Friday, July 13, is to meet up with Chuck’s kids – Savanna and Jayden – where they will take over first mate duties and I’ll spend a week on the Rock of Ages lighthouse doing restoration work. I am really looking forward to that!

Expecting a very quiet day today – hoping to see some of the shoreline from this view. Will take lots of photos of Lutsen if we can see it! Cheers!
